Meet Marjolein
Hoi hoi! My name is Marjolein, a Dutch name that might still be a bit tricky to pronounce ;). Originally from a town close to Utrecht, I loved growing up in the Dutch countryside, biking to school and eating plenty of sandwiches with cheese. Since, I was also very curious about living abroad, I took the opportunity to go on an exchange to New Zealand. After that, I moved to Barcelona, Madrid, London, Lima (where I met Elise!) and back to Spain.
I love helping others learn languages! Cheering others on, listening to their stories and explaining things in an easy way so they can finally start to use what they have learned. It truly is the most fulfilling job for me!
I’m excited about helping you unlock Dutch conversations too! 😊
Meet Elise
Hello! I’m Elise van der Heijden, a typical Dutch globetrotter that left the Netherlands at 18, drawn to the bright lights of London town where I studied and worked for 6 years. That’s when I relocated to the mysterious mountains of Peru where I started teaching English in 2006 and Dutch in 2020.
I’ve always loved languages, literature, creativity and expression and I’m incredibly driven to continue to discover new ways of making the language learning process easier and more fun for my students.
I look forward to helping you mastering the Dutch language! 😊

We know Dutch isn’t the easiest language to learn… and that’s exactly why we’ve made it our mission to make it much more doable and enjoyable.
Are you planning to take the civic integration exam in 2024? We’ve got you covered! Our beginner’s course is designed to cover all the material you need to know to pass the exam.
We don’t practice conjugating verbs and have you memorize word lists for hours on end. Instead we expose you to plenty of dialogues and images so you can learn grammar and words in context and in a more engaging and effective way.
Our goal
You’ll quickly learn how to:
- chit-chat with your neighbors
- truly connect with Dutch speakers (in-laws, parents at your children’s school, co-workers etc.)
- understand and speak Dutch at shops, cafes and restaurants
- make phone calls to the doctor’s office, dentist and government
- feel at ease in group settings
